Trendy or Classic?

I have always been a fan of fashion, and obviously I’ve not shared fashion on my blog as of yet but I have been tossing around the idea of including some fashion features here and there.  Anyways, today I wanted to share my favorite ‘everyday’ look with you. You can almost bet money on the fact that if you see me off my 9-5….I’m wearing this outfit.

My Everyday look
I have a constant need for white t-shirts and camis.  They are one of my top wardrobe staples.  A great pair of jeans is key. Since my 5’8ish height tends to limit my choices in jeans I’ve found that my favorite, perfect fitting jeans from middle school to the present are American Eagle. They have the best jeans. They last forever, come in long lengths that actually fit my height, and they’ve got a bit of stretch too which is ideal for comfort and fit.  I won’t wear jeans or most of my pants without a belt.  I normally opt for my leather Express belt which I’ve had for years now and it still looks brand new. Much like my necklaces, I can’t leave the house if I don’t have my Ralph sunglasses. I have a fear that squinting from the blinding sun will cause premature wrinkles and besides who wants to be blinded anyways? The BCBG Generation clutch is something I had visited at Burlington Coat Factory for a while.  I waited patiently for it to be marked down and finally bought it a few weeks ago for $14.99! It fits my Martha Stewart planner like a glove and keeps it nice and clean too – oh, and it’s pretty hot too.  I love riding boots but now that the weather is getting hot, I’m getting ready to switch over to flip-flops.

I’ve always enjoyed the glamour, dazzle, and colors of fashion, but I’ve never been a ‘trendy’ person.  Not because I’m scared to try them but because I like having clothes I know will still be ‘in’ next year.  Don’t get me wrong, I love getting dressed up occasionally and have my fair share of sky-high heels and if I had a bottomless bank account I’d fill my closet with all the latest trends but given the choice I would pick classic looks and comfort any day over 7 inch heels and a cut-up-to-there dresses.  In the past few years I’ve been more bold with my fashion choices by mixing in some trends that I really fall in love and that’s been pretty cool seeing my ‘style’ evolve.  Mostly though, I’ll stick with the basics and go bold with accessories so I ‘build on the basics’.  Are you a jean and tee person too?  What is your go-to outfit?

Treats: Type & Tea

This past weekend my lovely mother and I spent the day together thrifting.  We were actually on a mission for a few key items but I’ll get to that later on next month (hehe!).

I’ve kept an eye out for typewriters because I passed on an insanely awesome one a few years ago at a yard sale and I’ve been kicking myself ever since.  Lucky me, I found this little beauty!

I love vintage bar ware.  I finally got my hands on an amazing glass decanter made by Tiffany & Co.!  So amazing!

Cute little bambi I found for 25 cents!

Just a peek of some more goodies we picked up! I can’t wait to share more details next month!
